Today I found myself back in Somerset after the excitement of the last few days. What was exciting is that as I arrived home I was greeted by what can only be described as a Vesuvii of postage on the hall mat. I'd only been away 4 days but the Birthday in the middle of this meant that in the midst of that pile were an additional 18 Birthday cards which if my mathematics is up to scratch leaves the running total at 27. Not bad for a middle aged bachelor. It was a lovely reminder of how to spread out the fun part of life as I opened my cards a day late and extended the 50th day by an additional 24 hours. At this rate I'll be 21 again before Christmas.
